Or so Andy Gibb once told us in what is now, regrettably, my Dave & Carole theme music.

I'm not exactly sure what you, our fine listeners, are asking for from me, but I promise you this: I will do my best to give you a little more than just the latest about your favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.

Maybe it's a review of one of my favorite Broadway musicals. Or my thoughts on overly chatty REO Speedwagon lead singer Kevin Cronin. Or cautionary tales of why you shouldn't eat 25 Krispy Kreme doughnuts in a 12-hour period. Or insight into men's fashion from an alleged metrosexual's point of view. Or my thoughts on Carole's maternal instincts or KB's, well, KB-ness.

For those who care about such things, I'm a Milwaukee native who graduated from Greendale Martin Luther High School (in 1990) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison (in 1994).

I've also been called an ``award-winning sports writer,'' having won two Associated Press Sports Editors awards, several Wisconsin Newspaper Association awards and the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association 2003 sportswriter of the year.

And now that I've rattled those bogus accomplishments off, I am reminded of Jerry Seinfeld's recent acceptance speech rant about giving awards to comedians on HBO.

To paraphrase him, like comedians, you don't give awards to sportswriters. Awards are for people who are looking for work, and we're not looking for work. If you're any good as a sportswriter -- or as a comedian -- you've got tons of work. And even more important, your whole career is about making fun of pretentious, high-minded, self-congratulatory B.S. like this bio.

The whole feeling of writing something like this is the exact opposite of what I want my life to be about. I really don't want to be writing this. I want to be reading it, making a wisecrack about what a crock the whole thing is.

But don't get the wrong impression. I'm excited -- and, honestly, honored -- to have joined the Morning KLH team. Thanks for having me.
