Hi! I am Brandon, you may know me as Brandon
Knight, some call me BK…whatever you call
me thanks for taking your time to read my bio.
I'm a soft spoken Taurus who likes long walks
on the beach, puppies and gerbils….okay,
that's not exactly true. I am a Taurus, I will
give ya that much, but I don't like gerbils, as
far as I’m concerned it is in the same category
as a rat..
I was born and raised here in the lovely city
of Milwaukee. I'm a tech geek who has to learn
about and have the latest and greatest technology
before anyone else. I drink a lot of Red Bull
and I like clothes…A LOT!! I've got more
jeans and shoes than 95% of the women I know…and
yet I still find myself wearing the same 10 pairs…
I don't understand it either.
LITTLE KNOWN FACTS ABOUT ME:
I started this radio thing when I was 9 years
old, doing just about everything an intern can
do in 4 years. At the age of 14 I was given my
own air shift. After learning how easy it was
to make the boss mad I eventually decided it would
be in my best interest to work in as many departments
as possible, rather than just being a man behind
a microphone.
Which leads me to one of the many questions people
ask me, “Is traffic reporting all you do
everyday??" Answer: Along with my morning
traffic reports I'm also assistants to both the
IT and Engineering departments. In addition, I
maintain and repair all of the on-air studio computers,
support the air-staff and Program Directors with
anything they need and fill in for fellow co-workers
when they are sick or on vacation. The easiest
way of describing all of this is, well, ummmm…I
am the go to man for our awesome radio group!!!
More or less, I never leave the building and if
I do my phone will ring for one reason or another….but
I love it.
PERSONAL HEROS:
Everyone who has supported me…My parents,
friends, friends-friends, friends parents, co-workers,
ex-co-workers, I've been through quite a bit in
my years on this planet and I wouldn't be half
the person I am if it weren't for all of them.
BIGGEST PET PEEVE(S):
Bad breath, people who are indefinitely rude,
people who discriminate by age about any matter
and sleeping in a bed without it being made. Ummm,
that’s all I can think of right now.
MOST ANNOYING HABIT:
I’ve decided it’s time to eat healthy
and live a healthy lifestyle. I haven’t
always been this way. I was never one to watch
what I ate or make regular trips to the gym. But,
about a year ago I decided it was time. Why is
this annoying? Because I can’t eat the food
I deep down crave (like fried chicken)!
WHEN DID YOU FIRST KNOW YOU WANTED TO
BE A DJ:
I remember back in kindergarten (I was 5) Dave
Luczak from the DAVE & CAROLE morning show
came into speak to our class, he brought in some
cool looking tape recorder and Mr. Angry t-shirts
for everyone. From that day on I was hooked. I
became fascinated with radio; I thought it was
the coolest thing since sliced bread. So a few
years went by and the year was now 1992, WLUM-HOT102
was in Mayfair Mall, I happened to be in the mall
one summer afternoon and saw a group of kids walking
into the offices of HOT102. All that was going
through my mind was “Whatever they’re
doing I needed to be doing too.” So I followed
them; they were there for a tour, it was perfect.
When the tour group left the studio I didn’t.
I was so amazed and couldn’t stop asking
questions. After about an hour in the studio,
the DJ asked me if I was interested in being his
intern. Of course I said yes. 14 years later,
here I am.
IF I WAS NOT A DJ, I WOULD BE:
A professional poker player in Vegas. I may not
always win, but at least I'd have a nice tan…
Oh and by the way….Next time you look at
the clock and it's 4:00am...I want you think of
me as I climb my butt outta bed and make my way
onto I94 to get to station to report the traffic.
